Changing the Parameter Settings

"Parameters" refer to the switches that configures various features in the Fax function. You can specify the detailed settings regarding the behavior of the machine when printing a received fax or when sending or receiving a fax.

How to operate on the parameter settings screen

Each switch of a parameter has 8-digit bits of [0] to [7], and a function is assigned to each bit number. To switch the setting, press each bit number and change the current value to "0" or "1".

Important

  • Attach the external unit to configure or enable/disable the function before changing each switch of a parameter.

  1. Log in to the machine as the machine administrator on the control panel.

    When custom-privileges administrators are registered, you can log in to the machine as a custom-privileges administrator with the Fax Settings privilege as well.

  2. On the Home screen, press [Settings].

  3. Press [Fax Settings].

  4. Press [Detailed Initial Settings] [Parameter Setting] [Parameter Setting].

  5. Press the switch number to change.

  6. Press the bit number to change and specify the current value.

    The Current value changes to "1" or "0" every time you press the bit number.

  7. Press [OK].

  8. Press [Close].

  9. Press [Home] (Operation panel screen illustration), and then log out of the machine.

Note

  • To print the current values of the parameters whose setting is referred frequently, press [Fax Settings] [Detailed Initial Settings] [Parameter Setting] [Parameter Setting: Print List]. For the value that has been changed from the default value, "*" is printed.
