Solution and reference

A document cannot be accessed.

The document is protected by a password.

Ask the user who stored the document for the password. If you have forgotten the password, consult the file administrator (or custom-privileges administrator who has equivalent privilege).

A stored document cannot be found.

You cannot identify a document because the document name was assigned automatically.

  • Check the user name and the date the file was stored.

  • Press Operation panel screen illustration and check the displayed image.

A document is not displayed when you disable user authentication.

Access permissions are specified on the document.

Request the machine administrator (or custom-privileges administrator who has equivalent privilege) to enable user authentication again. Have the user who stored the document or file administrator log in to the machine and change the access permission of the document to [All Users].

Specifying Access Privileges for Documents Saved in Document Server

Only documents stored from Document Server are displayed.

[Auth. Not Required] is specified in Document Server under [General Settings for Application Authentication].

  • Request the device administrator (or custom-privileges administrator who has equivalent privilege) to change Document Server to a setting other than [Auth. Not Required]. The device administrator can change the setting in [Settings] [System Settings] [Settings for Administrator] [Authentication/Charge] [Administrator Authentication/User Authentication/App Auth.] [Application Authentication Settings] [General Settings for Application Authentication].

  • Add a guest (All Users) to Folder Authentication Info in [Destinations] tab [Folder] of the address book.
Registering the Destination Folder to Use for Send to Folder
