Copying a Separately Scanned Original as a Single Document
You can scan originals separately from the ADF, and combine and copy them as a single document. You can make copies more efficiently using this function together with the Sort or Combine function.
Dividing and Copying an Original with Many Pages in Several Parts
When copying an original comprised of too many pages to place in the ADF, specify [Batch] and then scan the original in batches.
For the maximum number of sheets you can load in the ADF, see the following section:
Press [Copy] on the Home screen.
Press [Batch] on the Copy screen.
[Batch] is not displayed in the default setting. Change the setting in the following setting items to display the key.

Specify 2 sided, Combine, or Sort as necessary.
Combining and Copying a Multi-page Original onto a Single Sheet of Paper
Place the original in the ADF.
Press [Start].
When scanning the originals set in the ADF is completed, proceed to the next step.
Place the next original, and then press [Start].
Repeat Step 6 until all of the originals are scanned.
When specifying 2 sided, Combine, or Sort, press [Finish Scn] after scanning all of the originals.
Copying an Original by Placing Page by Page
To copy multiple sheets by checking the finished pages individually or to place a thick original with multiple sheets in the ADF page by page, specify [SADF]. The second and subsequent pages will be copied with the same settings by simply placing the next original.
Set [Switch to Batch] to [SADF] in the setting items shown below.

Press [Copy] on the Home screen.
Press [SADF] on the Copy screen.
[SADF] is not displayed in the default setting. First, display [Batch] by changing the setting in the following setting items, and then set [Switch to Batch] to [SADF].

Combining and Copying a Multi-page Original onto a Single Sheet of Paper
Place the first page of the original in the ADF.
Press [Start].
When a message "Set the additional originals." is displayed, place the next page.
The second and subsequent pages will be fed automatically without pressing [Start].
When specifying 2 sided, Combine, or Sort, press [Finish Scn] after scanning all of the originals.
In the factory default setting, the original is not fed automatically if five seconds has passed after placing the previous original. You can change this value in [SADF Auto Reset].
