Installing the Interface Units

Before beginning work, ground yourself by touching something metal to discharge any static electricity. Static electricity can damage the interface units.
Do not subject the interface units to physical shocks.
Check the contents of the package.
Turn the machine off and unplug the power cord.
Loosen the screw and remove the slot cover.

Fully insert the interface board.

Confirm that the interface board is firmly connected to the controller board.Re-install back the removed cover.
Plug in the power cord, and then turn on the machine.
Print the configuration page to confirm that the board was attached correctly.
After installing the wireless LAN board, see Connecting to a Wireless LAN to specify the wireless LAN settings.

Confirm that the board was correctly installed by printing the configuration page. If it is correctly installed, "Wireless LAN" will appear for "Device Connection" on the configuration page.
If the board was not installed properly, repeat the procedure from the beginning. If it cannot be installed correctly even after reattempting installation, contact your sales or service representative.
The optional device server option is an interface board that adds an Ethernet port to the machine.
With this option installed, two Ethernet cables can be connected at the same time using the standard port on the machine and an additional port on the device server option. You can assign different IP addresses to each port, so the machine can print jobs from different network segments.
Procedure for installing the device server option
Check the contents of the package.
Turn the machine off and unplug the power cord.
Loosen the two screws and remove the slot cover.

The removed cover will not be reused.Fully insert the interface board.

Check that the interface board is firmly connected to the controller board.Tighten the two screws to secure the interface board.
