When Paper or an Original Is Jammed
Remove the jammed sheet by following the procedure described in the animated illustration displayed on the control panel. If paper jams occur frequently, check that the actual paper size in the paper input location, the paper size dial and the [Settings]
[Paper Input Location/Paper Settings] displayed on the control panel are the same.
Be careful not to rip the jammed paper and leave small pieces inside the machine when removing. Hold on the left and right edges of the paper firmly and apply force evenly to pull out the paper.

- Do not remove any covers or screws other than those explicitly mentioned in this manual. There are high voltage components inside the machine, which can cause electric shock. Contact your sales or service representative if any of the machine's internal components require maintenance, adjustment, or repair.
- Do not disassemble or modify this machine. Doing so can result in fire and electric shock.

- There is a paper cutter inside the machine. Do not touch areas other than those specified in this manual when replacing or replenishing the roll paper or removing misfed paper. Touching these areas can result in injury.
- When removing jammed paper, make sure not to trap or injure your fingers.

If the error message "Paper Misfeed (C)" is displayed, take care not to touch the encoder sheet, the ink tubes, the metal shaft, and the sensors inside the machine when removing misfed paper. Touching these parts may result in loss of print quality or machine failure.

When clearing misfeeds, do not turn off the power. If you do, your copy settings will be lost.
Do not turn off the power of the machine when removing the jammed paper. If you turn off the power, the specified settings values are reset.
Only perform the operation described in the animated illustration. Failure to do so may degrade the print quality or cause a malfunction.
If the error message remains displayed even after you remove misfed paper, fully open the front cover, and then close it.
When removing jammed paper, you can touch only those areas explicitly indicated in the manual.
To prevent paper misfeeds, do not leave any torn scraps of paper inside the machine.
Do not load paper immediately after you remove misfed paper from the paper bypass location. Close the front cover after you remove the paper, and then wait until the “Please wait.” message disappears from the screen before loading paper into the paper bypass location again.
Wrap the paper tightly to the paper core so that there is no gap between the paper and the paper core. If there is a gap between them, the paper holder may spin while the paper roll remains still, which may cause a paper jam.
Check the part where the paper jam occurred on the screen.

When the display is turned off, press [Check] in [Check Status]
"Machine Status".
Follow the procedure described in the animated illustration to remove the jammed paper.

Close all covers that have been opened.
When [Cut End of Paper] is displayed on the screen, press [Cut End of Paper] to cut the end of the paper.

If the jammed paper was torn apart while removing it, check that all pieces are accounted for.
If the message remains displayed even after you remove the jammed paper, check whether any paper is jammed in another location on the screen shown in Step 1 if the message persists.
If you notice a paper jam about to occur, press [Scanner Stop] key to pause scanning, and place the original in the original table again.
