Configure settings for information necessary for IEEE 802.1X authentication, when WPA2 is selected for WPA2 Authentication Method on the Wireless LAN Settings page, or when Active is selected for Ethernet Security on the Interface Settings page.

Note

• Settings on this page can be changed by the following administrator:
  • Network Administrator

User Name

Enter the user name used with the Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP). You can enter up to 31 alphanumeric characters.
EAP is the authentication protocol used for IEEE 802.1X authentication.

Domain Name

Enter the domain name used for the RADIUS server authentication using either an FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) or NetBIOS name. You can enter up to 64 alphanumeric characters. Note that domain names cannot include "at" signs (@) or backslashes (\).

EAP Type

Select the EAP authentication type.

IEEE 802.1X Client Certificate Status

Displays the status of the device certificate specified for wireless LAN connection in Certification on the Device Certificate page.

Password

If EAP Type is set to LEAP, EAP-TTLS, or PEAP, click Change to enter a password set on the RADIUS server.

• A password cannot be set if EAP Type is set to PEAP and Phase 2 Method (PEAP) is set to "TLS".

Phase 2 User Name

If EAP Type is set to EAP-TTLS or PEAP, click Change to enter a user name set on the RADIUS server.

Phase 2 Method (EAP-TTLS)

If EAP Type is set to EAP-TTLS, select the phase 2 method.

Phase 2 Method (PEAP)

If EAP Type is set to PEAP, select the phase 2 method.

Authenticate Server Certificate

If EAP Type is set to other than LEAP, specify whether to enable or disable authentication for the authentication server.

Trust Intermediate Certificate Authority

If EAP Type is set to other than LEAP, specify whether to trust the certificate signed by the intermediate CA.

• This setting can be configured only when Authenticate Server Certificate is set to On.

Server ID

If EAP Type is set to other than LEAP, enter the authentication server ID. You can enter up to 128 alphanumeric characters.

Permit Sub-domain

Specify whether to enable authentication even if the sub-domain name is different.
For example: if you select On, both "a.jp.xyz2.com" and "a.uk.xyz2.com" domains will be authenticated.
