Use this page to configure settings for LDAP Authentication.
Note
- To use LDAP authentication, the LDAP server and machine must be connected on the same network and the LDAP server must be registered on the machine. To register the LDAP server, use the Configuration: Device Settings: LDAP Server page.
Printer Job Authentication Settings
Configure settings for processing printer jobs under each authentication method.
Note
- The setting configured here is for User Code Authentication, Basic Authentication, Windows Authentication, LDAP Authentication, and Integration Server Authentication.
Printer Job Authentication
Select whether to print a job if the printer driver sending the job contains no authentication information (i.e. no user name or password).
Entire
The job is not printed if it has no authentication information.
Simple (All)
The job is printed even if it has no authentication information.
Simple (Limitation)
Authentication-based print is determined by settings configured under the following: Limitation Range (IPv4), Limitation Range (IPv6), Parallel Interface (Simple), and USB (Simple).
Limitation Range (IPv4)
Enter a range for limiting unauthenticated print jobs from IPv4 addresses.
You can set up to five ranges.
Any job sent from an IPv4 address within the range entered here is printed, regardless of whether or not it is authenticated.
Any unauthenticated job sent from an IPv4 address outside the entered range is not printed.
Note
- This setting is only possible if Printer Job Authentication is set to Simple (Limitation).
Limitation Range (IPv6)
Enter a range for limiting unauthenticated print jobs from IPv6 addresses.
Enter the range using a combination of start and end addresses, or a combination of base address and mask.
You can set up to five ranges.
Any job sent from an IPv6 address within the range entered here is printed, regardless of whether or not it is authenticated.
Any unauthenticated job sent from an IPv6 address outside the entered range is not printed.
Note
- Use one of the following procedures to specify the range:
- Select Range, and then enter the start and end addresses.
- Select Mask, enter the base address, and then enter the mask between 1 and 128 in the Mask Length.
- This setting is only possible if Printer Job Authentication is set to Simple (Limitation).
Parallel Interface (Simple)
Select whether or not to apply authentication-based print to jobs sent using the parallel interface.
Apply: unauthenticated jobs are not printed.
Do not Apply: unauthenticated jobs are printed.

USB (Simple)
Select whether or not to apply authentication-based print to jobs sent using the USB interface.
Apply: unauthenticated jobs are not printed.
Do not Apply: unauthenticated jobs are printed.

LDAP Authentication Settings
LDAP Authentication
Select the LDAP server used for User Authentication. You can select a single server or multiple servers if necessary.
Login Name Attribute
Enter the login name attribute (user name attribute), using up to 32 alphanumeric characters.
A typical attribute may be "cn" or "uid".
When the data of the LDAP-authenticated user is automatically registered to the Address Book on the device, information is searched for the user's e-mail address and other data for the Address Book.
The search filter for finding the data is created using the login name (user name) used for authenticating the user.
The login name attribute specified here is used as data for creating this search filter.
Unique Attribute
Enter the attribute for uniquely identifying the user, using up to 32 alphanumeric characters.
When the data of the LDAP-authenticated user is automatically registered to the Address Book, this attribute information can also be registered. This unique attribute is used for identifying the user at the subsequent authentication.
Available Functions
Select the check boxes of the functions that you want to allow to the user.
Note
- When an authenticated user is first registered to the Address Book, the following settings are displayed by default in Available Functions:
- Some items may not appear depending on machine type or configuration.
Copier: Black & White
Select whether or not to allow black & white copying to the user.
Copier: Single Color
Select whether or not to allow single color copying to the user.
Copier: Two-color
Select whether or not to allow two-color copying to the user.
Copier: Full Color
Select whether or not to allow full color copying to the user.
Color Copy Mode Limitation: Limit to Auto Color Selection
Enable or disable limiting color copying automatically to "Auto Color Selection".
Color Copy Mode Limitation: Full Color/Auto Color Selection
Enable or disable limiting color copying automatically to "Full Color" or "Auto Color Selection".
Printer: Black & White
Select whether or not to allow black & white printing to the user.
Printer: Color
Select whether or not to allow color printing to the user.
Other Function(s): Document Server
Select whether or not to allow Document Server functions to the user.
Other Function(s): Fax
Select whether or not to allow the fax function to the user.
Other Function(s): Scanner
Select whether or not to allow the scanner function to the user.
Other Function(s): Browser
Select whether or not to allow the browser function on the machine's control panel to the user.

Click to update the currently displayed information.
Note
- Before making the settings, click Refresh to obtain the machine's current status.

Click to apply the settings.

Click to cancel the settings.
