Use this page to make changes to the printer function settings.
Note
Configure settings for the machine's basic operations.
Select to have an error report printed if an error occurs during print data processing.
This setting is available when you use a PCL 6 or PS3 printer driver, or when you select PDF printing.
Select the printer response when the appropriate paper tray matching paper size and type specified in the job, is not equipped with the printer.
The printer stops operation until the correct paper is loaded.
When the specified period of time elapses, the printer does the following:
When Auto Select is specified, the printer checks trays in the order of Paper Tray Priority, Tray 1, Tray 2, Tray 3, and Bypass Tray, for trays with paper loaded. When the printer detects a tray with paper loaded, it begins printing.
When Auto Select is not specified and the paper tray is specified by the job, the printer begins printing using the tray, regardless of size and type of paper loaded in the tray. If the specified tray has no paper loaded, the printer stops operation until the correct paper is loaded.
Select the printer response if the job is too large.
Resets the job at the error page. Subsequent pages following the error page are not printed.
For the error page, job data before the error is processed and printed. Subsequent pages are printed normally, and the error sheet is printed at the end. When this happens, the electronic collation is canceled.
Select the format of error message that appears on the device's control panel when an error occurs during print data processing.
Displays simplified error information.
Displays detailed error information.
Select whether or not to stop printing and display a confirmation page when auto job reset occurs.
When On is selected, subsequent jobs following the error job will not be received unless you close the confirmation page.
Select whether or not to reset the print job where the print error occurred and reset the jobs received before the error.
Completes sets of copies and shifts the output position of each. When printing large numbers of multiple-sheet jobs, the output can be automatically separated.
Select whether to automatically delete Locked, Sample, and Hold print jobs stored on the machine.
When On is selected, enter a time after which jobs stored on the machine are deleted. Enter from 1 to 200 hours.
Select whether to automatically delete Stored Print jobs stored on the machine.
When On is selected, enter a time after which jobs stored on the machine are deleted.
You can enter a value between 1 and 180 (days).
Select the initial view of the list that appears when Print Job/Stored File - Printer: Print Jobs is selected in the menu area.
Select whether to automatically determine the printer language according to the job data.
Available selections are PS3, PDF, R55, R16, RTIFF, GL/GL2, RPDL, and PCL. For a job using another printer language, the language selected in the Emulation Priority list is used.

Select the printer language or registered program activated as soon as the device is turned on.
Note
Specify how the machine responds when the Hold Print (Print at Set Time) jobs are not printed because the main power of the machine is turned off.
Prints the jobs automatically when the main power is turned on.
Does not print the jobs even when the main power is turned on. The status changes to Hold Print (Incomplete: Print at Set Time). If you want to print them, go to the Print Job List page where you can print it.

Select whether to print incoming compressed job data after decompressing it on the printer.

Select an option according to paper size, print resolution, and printer language used.
This setting uses memory for registering fonts and foreign characters.
This setting uses memory for high speed printing.
Enter the default number of copies. Available values are between 1 and 999.
This setting is available when you use a PCL or PS3 printer driver, or when you select PDF printing.
Select to enable edge smoothing.
When On is selected, jagged border lines of characters or images appear smoother.
Select to enable toner saving mode.
When On is selected, a certain amount of dots are eliminated from black areas.

Select the printer language to be used.
When Auto is selected, the printer automatically switches between the available printer languages according to job data format.
Select whether to switch the paper size between A4 and Letter (8 ½ x 11).

Perform letterhead printing only when letterhead paper is specified.
Always perform letterhead printing.
When using input trays, select whether to give priority to the device's paper settings or to the job's paper settings.
Note
Jobs are printed using the paper settings (such as paper size and type) configured on the machine.
Jobs are printed using the paper settings (such as paper size and type) configured for the job.
Even if the paper type settings configured for the job do not match the paper loaded in the trays, a paper mismatch error will not occur and jobs will be printed from the bypass tray.
Specify the paper thickness of each paper type for the input trays.
If you select Driver/Command for tray(s) in Tray Setting Priority, jobs are printed using the paper thickness specified here according to the paper type configured for the job.
Select whether or not to display the confirmation page for checking the paper size, type and direction on the bypass tray before the paper is fed from the tray.
Specify whether or not to store the print job on the machine when the job is stopped because of the print error. By storing and skipping jobs with errors, a print job after the job with the error is processed and printed. To print the stored print job, go to the Print Job List page.

After the function checked through the specified pages for errors, the print job is processed. The machine does not feed a paper until the error check is finished. You can avoid the situation described above in the note.

Select whether to disable test print.
If On is selected, the printer cannot print test pages even if it receives the test print command.
Select whether or not the machine automatically switches to another tray containing paper of the required size, orientation, and type if the specified tray runs out of paper during a job.
Select the printing method appropriate for black and gray areas of documents.
Checks every pixel and prints black pixels (when the values of RGB are equal or nearly equal) using black toner only.
Prints black and gray on every page using all four colors (CMYK).
Select whether to enable or disable the virtual printer function.
Note
Specify whether or not to store print jobs on the machine's hard disk without printing out them to the output tray.
Prints out the jobs.
Does not print out the jobs and stores them on the machine's hard disk. If you want to print them, go to the Print Job List page where you can print it.

Specify an initial screen to be displayed when the printer function is selected on the device control panel.
Configure the network connection-related settings.
Set the I/O Buffer's memory size.

Set the number of seconds the printer waits before ending a print job if more data is not received through parallel interface or USB. When the specified period elapses, data reception through other interfaces is possible.

Enter the number of lines per page. You can enter between 5 and 128 lines.

Set the ID of the default font you want to use.
Set the point size you want for the default font. You can enter between 4 and 999.75, in increments of 0.25.
Set the number of characters per inch you want for the default font. You can enter between 0.44 and 99.99, in increments of 0.01.
Specify the default font character set.
Select a courier font type.
Select to increase the width of the printable area for A4 paper, leaving narrow side margins.
Select to add a CR code to each LF code.
Set the print resolution in dots per inch.
Select whether to print blank pages.
Configure settings for PS printing.
Select whether or not to apply a timeout limit if the machine takes longer than a specified time to process a job.
To apply a timeout limit, select Use Machine Setting(s), and then specify the time that must elapse (up to 999 seconds) before the timeout is applied.
If you enter "0", the machine does not apply a timeout limit.
Select whether or not to apply a timeout limit if the machine waits longer than a specified time for job data.
To apply a timeout limit, select Use Machine Setting(s), and then specify the time that must elapse (up to 999 seconds) before the timeout is applied.
If you enter "0", the machine does not apply a timeout limit.
Select whether or not to print on both sides of each page, and then select the binding orientation.
Select whether to print blank pages.
Select whether or not to continue the 2-sided print when a specific command is inserted between the front and back sides of the job in the 2-sided print process.
Select the default method for paper selection.
Select the data format.
Set the print resolution in dots per inch.
Reduces the amount of toner used when printing. While this increases the life of the toner cartridge, the output appears slightly lighter.
Select whether to apply color correction when converting an RGB color image into a CMYK color image, and if yes, select the correction level.
Select the color profile you want to use.
The printer automatically selects an appropriate color profile according to the job data.
Text color reproduction is improved.
Solid color area reproduction is improved (optimal for artwork and graphics).
Gray scale image reproduction is improved.
The color profile embedded in the job data is used.
Select the process color model that you want to apply.
Select to print over the whole sheet area, leaving no edge borders.
Selecting On results in output leaving no borders.
Specify whether or not the machine automatically detects the image orientation (Portrait/Landscape) of the job data it receives.
To enable auto detection of orientation, select On.
Select the printing method appropriate for black and gray areas of documents.
Prints black and gray using black toner only. Compared to the black printed with CMYK toner, this results in a black that is relatively flatter and purer.

Configure settings for PDF printing.
Select whether or not to print on both sides of each page, and then select the binding orientation.
Select whether to print blank pages.
Select whether to start printing from the last page.
Set the print resolution in dots per inch.
