Make settings for Internet Fax transmission and Fax reception.

Transmission Settings

Maximum E-mail Size

Select whether to limit Internet Fax transmissions according to maximum e-mail size.
When [On] is selected, specify the maximum e-mail size in [E-mail Size] below.

E-mail Size

Enter the maximum e-mail size in kilobytes (128 to 102400 KB).

Switch Reception Mode

Select the reception mode if using standard G3 line.

Note

Auto Reception

When a call comes in, the device automatically receives it as a fax. Use this setting for dedicated fax lines. If the call is voice, you must manually switch to telephone mode.

Manual Reception

When a call comes in, the device rings. If the call is a fax, you must manually switch to facsimile mode.

Auto Switch

When a call comes in, the device automatically switches between telephone and facsimile mode according to the caller.

Reception Mode Auto Switch Time

Select the reception mode priority between telephone and facsimile, when [Auto Switch] is set for [Switch Reception Mode].

Telephone Priority

Switches to facsimile mode after the specified number of rings, whether the call is voice or fax.
The number of rings can be set in the [Number of Rings (Telephone Priority)] box.

Facsimile Priority

If the call is a fax, the device receives it automatically. If the call is voice, the device switches to facsimile mode after the specified number of rings.
The number of rings can be set in the [Number of Recalls (Facsimile Priority)] box.

Number of Rings (Telephone Priority)

Enter the number of rings when [Telephone Priority] is selected for [Reception Mode Auto Switch Time]. Enter a number between 1 and 29.

Number of Recalls (Facsimile Priority)

Enter the number of rings when [Facsimile Priority] is selected for [Reception Mode Auto Switch Time]. Enter a number between 1 and 29.

SMTP RX File Delivery Settings

Select whether to deliver files received on an SMTP server using a fax line.
When [On] is selected, specify the authorized e-mail address in [Authorized E-mail Address] below.

Note

Authorized E-mail Address

Enter an e-mail address. Up to 128 alphanumeric characters can be entered.
Files sent from the e-mail address entered here are delivered.
For example, if you specify "@xyz.co.jp", e-mail sent from addresses such as "abc@xyz.co.jp" or "def@xyz.co.jp" will be delivered. E-mail sent from addresses that do not match the setting, for example "abc@xyz2.co.jp", will not be delivered.

Note

  • When e-mail is received from an e-mail address that does not match the e-mail addresses specified here, the e-mail is deleted and an error message returned to the SMTP server. An error report is not produced even if the e-mail is deleted.

Encryption

Select whether or not to encrypt fax-received data when sending it to an e-mail address.

Signature

Select whether or not to apply a digital signature when sending fax-received data to an e-mail address.

Duplex Print

Select whether to duplex print fax-received data.

Checkered Mark

Select whether to print a checkered mark on the first page of fax messages to help you separate multiple jobs.

Center Mark

Select whether to print a center mark on fax messages, lists, and reports. The center mark position can be Center of Left Edge or Center of Top Edge of the paper.

Print Reception Time

Select whether to print the time of receipt on fax messages. The print position is the bottom edge of the paper.

Reception File Print Quantity

Enter the number of copies you want to print. You can enter a number between 1 and 10 (copies).

Paper Tray

Select a paper tray for printing fax-received data.

Memory Lock Reception

Select whether to use memory lock reception.
If memory lock reception is enabled, incoming faxes are stored in memory and do not print automatically. You need to enter a memory lock ID to print them.
To enable memory lock reception, enter the Program Memory Lock ID in the [Configuration: Fax: Initial Settings] box, and then select [ON].
