Paper Input Location/Paper Settings

This section describes the settings in [Paper Input Location/Paper Settings].

How to Use the "Settings"

Paper Size/Paper Type

Important

  • If the specified paper size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper input location, a misfeed might occur because the correct paper size was not detected.

Description

Paper Bypass Location

Paper Size: Printer

Specify the size of the paper loaded in the paper bypass location. This setting is applied when printing with the printer driver.

Region A icon(mainly Europe and Asia)

  • Default: [A4Landscape]

Region B icon(mainly North America)

  • Default: [81/2×11Landscape]

Paper Type/Thickness

Specify the type and weight of the paper loaded in the paper bypass location.

  • Default

    • Paper Type: [Plain Paper]

    • Paper Thickness: [80-94 gsm (Plain Paper)]

Paper Input Location 1

Paper Input Location 2

Paper Size

Specify the size of the paper loaded in the paper input location.

  • Default: [Auto Detect]

Paper Type/Thickness

Specify the type and weight of the paper loaded in the paper input location.

  • Default

    • Paper Type: [Plain Paper]

    • Paper Thickness: [80-94 gsm (Plain Paper)]

Apply Auto Paper Select/Auto Paper Input Location Select

Specify whether to apply Auto Paper Select.

  • Default: (Yes)

Paper Input Priority

Setting Items

Description

Paper Input Priority: Copier

Paper Input Priority: Printer

If multiple locations are listed for Auto Paper Select, specify which paper input location is used first.

Specify the paper input location to be used first for Copier or Printer.

  • Default

Sheet-dry Print Delay

Specify the time period for drying printed paper to prevent image contamination due to undried ink.

    • Plain Paper: [0 sec]

    • Inkjet Plain: [0 sec]

    • Translucent Paper: [15 sec]

    • Film (Matte): B & W: [0 sec]

Auto Paper Feed

Specify whether to automatically feed paper from a paper roll.

  • Default: [Active]

Description

Auto Tray Switching

As long as paper of the same size and type is loaded in another paper input location, paper is fed from the other paper input location when the first paper input location runs out of paper (Auto Tray Switching).

To enable Auto Tray Switching only when paper of the same size and type is loaded in the same orientation, select [Without Image Rotation].

  • Default: [With Image Rotation]

Paper Settings Screen for Bypass

You can specify whether to display the Paper Setting screen for the paper bypass location when you select the paper bypass location in [Paper Input Location/Paper Settings][Paper Size/Paper Type].

  • Default: [Display Automatically]

Printer

Setting Items

Description

Sub Paper Size

You can specify whether A4 and 81/2 × 11 paper is treated as the same size.

  • Default: [Auto]

Paper Input Location Switching

This is the setting item to specify when you print by specifying the paper input location on the printer driver. You can specify whether to allow automatic paper selection when the paper loaded in the paper input location is different from the settings specified on the printer driver. When paper of the same size and type is loaded in another paper input location, paper is fed from the paper input location.

  • Default: [Off]

Extended Auto Paper Input Switching

This is the setting item to specify when you print by specifying the paper input location. You can specify whether to use paper of the same size and type loaded in another paper input location when the designated paper input location runs out of paper.

If Auto Paper Input Switching for the print settings of emulation is disabled, printing continues by Auto Paper Input Switching.
