When an Error Is Reported in a Report or E-mail
The machine notifies the user when a malfunction or error occurs via a report or e-mail as described below.
Type |
Cause |
|---|---|
Error report |
Communication could not be established normally because of noise on the telephone line or a malfunction occurring on the machine or the fax device at the destination. |
Power off report |
The job that was running could not complete normally because the machine's power was shut off, due to a power outage or the power plug being unplugged. |
Error mail sent from the server |
A transmission could not be performed normally in the Internet Fax function. |
Error notification e-mail (Error Report) |
An e-mail could not be received in the Internet Fax function. |
Error report (e-mail) |
The machine could not send an error notification e-mail (Error Report) when an e-mail could not be received in the Internet Fax function. |
"User Name" shows the sender name.
Check "Destination" and send the fax again.
"Mode" shows "Receive" if an error occurred during reception. Request the sender to send the document again.
"Time" shows the time when the document was stored in the memory.
If "Transmission Condition" shows Memory Transmission and "Result" shows an error or stand-by, check the description in "Destination" and send the document again.
If "Transmission condition" shows Memory Reception or Substitute Reception, and "Result" shows an error, ask the sender to send the document again.

The power off report may not have recorded the line type of the destination and the expanded destination data (SEC code/sub address/UUI) depending on the machine’s condition when the machine was shut down.
The first page of the sent document is also printed.
The description may vary per destination. See "reason" or another field for the cause, and remedy the send conditions such as the destination setting or file size, and then send the document again. If the error was caused by something at the destination, such as insufficient memory, contact a person at the destination.
The machine sends an error notification e-mail (Error Report) to the sender, and a carbon copy (CC) of the e-mail is also sent to [Administrator's Email Address] in [Settings]
[System Settings]
[Send (Email/Folder)]
[Email].
If "Error Type" shows Invalid File (Code Error), ask the sender to change the e-mail transmission method, character code, or format of the attached file, and to send the e-mail again.
If "Error Type" shows Memory Over Error, check the remaining amount of memory on the machine.
Checking the Remaining Amount of MemoryIf "Error Type" shows Memory Access Error, check that no malfunction is occurring on the machine.
If "Error Type" shows a file, ask the sender to change the e-mail transmission method, character code, or format of the attached file, and to send the e-mail again.
If "Error Type" shows a reason other than a file, check that the machine is functioning normally and there is a sufficient amount of free space in the memory, and then have the sender resend the e-mail.
