Guide to Functions of the Machine’s External Options
(1) Options Mounted to the Machine’s Top Section

(2) Options Mounted to the Machine’s Right Side Section

2 | Extension unit of LCT | Attached to the LCT and holds 2,500 sheets of B4 JIS, A4, 81/2 × 14, or 81/2 × 11 paper. |

3 | Multi-Folding Unit FD4020 | The folding unit can apply the following folds: Half Fold, Letter Fold-out, Letter Fold-in, Double Parallel Fold, Gate Fold, and Z-fold. |

(3) Options Mounted to the Machine’s Left Side Section 2

2 | Booklet Finisher SR4160 | Sorts, stacks, and staples multiple sheets of paper. The saddle stitch function can staple multiple sheets of paper in the center and fold them into booklets. Consists of the following paper trays:

1 | A3/11 × 17 tray unit | You can load paper sizes up to A3 or 11 × 17 in Tray 1 using this unit. If you install the A3/11 × 17 tray unit on your machine, you cannot use it as a tandem tray. |

You cannot install multiple finishers simultaneously.
To use the folding unit, Finisher SR4150, Booklet Finisher SR4160, or Finisher SR4140 is required.
To use the interposer, Finisher SR4150, Booklet Finisher SR4160, or Finisher SR4140 is required.
To use the output jogger, Finisher SR4150 or Booklet Finisher SR4160 is required.
To use the mailbox, Finisher SR4150 or Booklet Finisher SR4160 is required.
Guide to Functions of the Machine’s Internal Options
Fax unit
Allows you to use the facsimile function.
Extra G3 interface unit
This lets you add a G3 fax line. A maximum of two G3 interface units can be installed.
Expansion memory
Provides 60 MB of additional memory for the facsimile function. (Standard 4 MB)
This allows you to send and receive fax documents at high resolution (Super Fine), and also to receive fax documents at high resolution (Fine). This enables you to increase the number of sheets of originals that can be stored in memory.
PostScript 3 unit
Allows you to output using Genuine Adobe PostScript 3.
OCR unit
Recognizes the scanned originals optically, and creates a PDF with the text data embedded.
IPDS unit
Allows you to print using Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS).
XPS card ( (mainly Asia)/ (mainly North America))
Allows you to directly output XPS files.
Device server option
Allows you to add an Ethernet port to the printer. Allows you to print using the printer function via a network other than that connected to the machine.
IEEE 1284 interface board
Allows you to connect to an IEEE 1284 cable.
Wireless LAN board
Allows you to communicate over wireless LAN.
File format converter
Allows you to download documents that are stored in the Document Server to the computer.
Data overwrite security unit
Allows you to erase and overwrite the existing data in the machine.
Enhanced Security HDD ((mainly Europe)/ (mainly North America))
Allows you to enhance the security of the hard disk by using an encryption function that is compliant with FIPS 140-2.
Fax connection unit
Allows you to send and receive faxes via a different machine that has the fax unit installed.
VM card
Allows you to install applications compatible with the "Embedded Software Architecture" platform.
To expand the function of this machine, various applications written in Java language can be added.
Only one of the following can be installed: IEEE 1284 interface board, wireless LAN board, file format converter, or device server option.
Only one of the following options can be installed on the machine at any one time: HDD and Enhanced Security HDD ((mainly Europe)/ (mainly North America)).
The Ethernet interface and wireless LAN board cannot be used simultaneously.
