Remote Maintenance Using telnet
Remote Maintenance should be protected so that access is allowed to administrators only.
The password is the same as the one of the administrators on Web Image Monitor controlled from networked computers. (Web Image Monitor is a management tool installed on this machine to monitor this machine or configure settings for this machine by using a web browser.) When the password is changed using "telnet", other's change also.
Only one user at a time can log in to perform remote maintenance.
If you are using Windows 7/8.1/10, you must enable the telnet client beforehand.
Follow the procedure below to use telnet.
Use the IP address or the host name of the machine to start telnet.
% telnet "IP address"
For example, if the machine's IP address is <192.168.15.16>, enter the address as follows:
% telnet 192.168.15.16
Enter your user name and password.
For details about the user name and password, consult your network administrator.
Enter a command.
Quit telnet.
msh> logout
A message asking you to confirm saving the changes appears.
If the message "Can not write NVRAM information" appears, the changes are not saved. Repeat the procedure.
Enter "yes" to save the changes, and then press the [Enter] key.
If you do not want to save the changes, enter "no", and then press the [Enter] key. To make further changes, enter "return" at the command line, and then press the [Enter] key.
When the changes are saved, the network interface board is reset automatically with those changes.
When the network interface board is reset, the print job in print process will be printed. However, print jobs in queue will be canceled.
