Cleaning the Registration Roller
When you use paper other than the standard types, specks of paper may stick on the registration roller, causing problems. Clean the registration roller if white dots appear on prints.
Clean the registration roller if printed paper becomes smeared after a paper jam is cleared.
The inside of the machine could be very hot. Do not touch the parts with a label indicating the "hot surface". Otherwise, an injury might occur.
Do not use chemical cleaners or organic solvents such as thinners or benzine.
After duplex printing, the registration roller becomes very hot. Confirm that the registration roller has cooled down before cleaning it.
Close all paper trays and optional paper feed units before opening the front cover.
Hold the both sides of the control panel and make it horizontal.
Press the front cover open button on the right side of the machine to open the front cover.
Hold the handle of the combined unit with both hands, and then pull it out.
Do not touch the lock lever when pulling out the combined unit.
Spread a piece of paper on a level surface and then place the combined unit on top of it.
Remove any dirt from the metal registration roller with a soft, cloth that has been tightly wrung out.
Hold the handle of the combined unit, and then insert it into the machine until it stops.
Close the front cover with both hands carefully.
Hold the both sides of the control panel and tilt it at an appropriate angle.
