Send Settings (Scanner Settings)

See the table below for the items of [Send Settings] under [Scanner Settings].

Setting Items

Description

Compression (Black & White)

Select whether to compress the data of an original scanned in black and white. By compressing the data, you can reduce the time required to send it.

  • Default: [On]

Compression Method (Black & White)

Specify the compression method.

  • Default: [MMR]

Compression (Gray Scale / Full Color)

Select whether to compress the data of an original scanned in multi-level (gray scale or full color). When applying compression, specify the compression level among 5 levels. A lower compression level improves the image quality, but the time required for sending the data becomes longer.

  • Default: [On]: (Compression Level 4)

The compression ratio becomes higher as the number increases.

Max. Email Size

Specify the maximum size of a file that can be attached to an e-mail when sending the scanned data by e-mail. When selecting [On], specify the upper limit of the file size between 128 and 44,300 KB. Use this setting and specify a size accordingly when the SMTP server to use has a restriction imposed on the size of e-mails.

  • Default: [On]: 2048 KB (2 MB)

Divide & Send Email

Select whether to divide an image that exceeds the file size specified in [Maximum Email Size] and send the data by attaching the divided parts to multiple e-mails.

  • Yes (per Max. Size)

A file is divided at the file size specified in [Maximum Email Size] regardless of the page separation. Specify the maximum number to divide the file to send into between 2 and 500.

  • Yes (per Page)

A file is divided for each page so that the file size stays below the upper limit when sending a PDF/TIFF file with multiple pages.

  • Off

The machine scans an original and pauses scanning when the size of the scanned data reaches the maximum size. You can select whether to send the data up to the page that is already scanned or discard the scanned data.

  • Default: [Yes (per Page)]: (Max. Number of Divisions=5)
