How to Use the "Settings"

Print Action/Image Quality Adjustment

Setting Items

Description

Interleave Priority

"Interleave" is to suspend printing of the Copier function with the Printer function or of the Fax function with the Copier function. You can specify the priority of printing.

  • Application Displayed on Screen

    Functions displayed on the screen has priority.

  • Copier/Document Server, Fax, Printer

    The priority is given to the specified function. When Printer or Copier/Document Server function has priority, printing of the Fax function is performed after that.

  • Switch Every Specified No.

    When the machine is instructed to perform printing of multiple functions at the same time, the machine switches the function to perform printing every 5 sheets.

  • Job Order

    Printing is performed in the order of the jobs. However, the Fax function is given highest priority.

  • Default: [Application Displayed on Screen]

Function Reset Timer

Specify the length of time the machine waits before changing modes when using the multi-access function such as Copier, Fax, or Printer. When you make many copies and have to change settings for each copy, specify a longer reset period, and you can prevent interruption from other functions.

The Function Reset Timer setting is ignored if [Switch Every Specified No.] or [Job Order] is selected for [Interleave Priority].

Time Interval between Printing Jobs

Specify the interval between print jobs when performing multiple Reserved Printing jobs consecutively.

  • Default: [Set Time], [3] second(s)

ADF Original Table Elevation

Specify when to raise the ADF plate after placing originals on the ADF; when the original is set or when the Start key is pressed.

When you place a large amount of original divided into several sets in the ADF, select when the Start key is pressed, and you can place the original easily.

  • Default: [When Original is Set]

ADF Original Double Feed Detection

Specify whether to detect that stacked sheets of an original are fed for scanning on the ADF.

  • Default: [On]

Interleave Print

Set the number of sheets to be output when you select [Switch Every Specified No.] in [Interleave Priority].

  • Default: [10 sheet(s)]

Allow Logout during Scanning

Specify whether to permit logout on the control panel during scanning the original in Copier function.

  • Default: [Prohibit]

Shift Tray Setting After Paper Misfeed Recovery

Specify whether to enable the shift operation when the machine resumes printing after the removal of jammed paper. This function is available if the shift tray is attached.

  • Default: [Do not Shift Tray]

Power/Energy Saving

Setting Items

Description

Sleep Mode Entry by Sleep Mode Timer

Specify whether or not to use Sleep Mode.

  • Default: [Enable]

Main Power On by Remote Operation

Turn the main power of the machine On using the Wake-On-LAN on the computer on a network.

  • Default: [Inactive]

Energy Saver Key to Change Mode

Select which mode the machine enters when the [Energy Saver] key is pressed.

  • Default: [Sleep Mode]

Control Panel Startup Mode

Specify which one takes priority, the time until the Home screen appears or the power consumption. When you specify [Normal], the machine uses less energy but take longer time to display the screen than [Quick].

  • Default: [Quick]

Recovery by Wireless Connect

Specify whether to recover from Sleep mode automatically when the machine is accessed from the mobile device.

  • Default: [Inactive]

Silent

Description

ADF Operation: Copier / Document Server

Specify which setting has priority, quietness or productivity, when the ADF scans documents using the Copy or Document Server function.

  • Default: [Silent Mode]

External Device

Setting Items

Description

Register/Change USB Device List

Register Product ID and Vendor ID information for an IC card reader device as a set to the device list to limit the usage of USB devices.

The "Product ID" and "Vendor ID" information for a USB device have been assigned by the manufacturer to identify the individual device. "Vendor ID" input settings are between 0x0001 and 0xFFFE and "Product ID" input settings are between 0 and 0xFFFF. Up to ten pairs of "Product ID" and "Vendor ID" information can be registered.

Control Panel SD Card Slot

Specify whether to enable the SD card slot on the side of the control panel.

  • Default: [Active]

Control Panel USB Memory Slot

Specify whether to enable the USB slot on the side of the control panel.

  • Default: [Active]

Allow Media Slots Use

Specify the USB slot on the side of the control panel disabled.

Specify "Store to Memory Storage Device" to [Prohibit] to prohibit the scanned data from being saved in an external media.

Specify "Print from Memory Storage Device" to [Prohibit] to prohibit documents saved in an external media from being printed.

  • Default Settings

Preventing Information Leaks from the Media Slot

External Keyboard

Specify the key layout of the external keyboard.

  • Default: [Off]

@Remote Service

Setting Items

Description

Service Test Call

Make a test call to the RICOH @Remote center server (RICOH Gateway).

This function is available when the RICOH @Remote is used.

Notify Machine Status

Send notification of the machine's status to the RICOH @Remote center server (RICOH Gateway).

This function is available when the RICOH @Remote is used.

Notify Machine Status to Data Server

Notify the machine's information to Machine Management System "PaaS-PF".

Auto Discovery

Specify whether to collect the status information of the device not that does not support RICOH @Remote on a network and to send it to the RICOH @Remote server together with the information of the machine. When you specify the transmission active, specify the timing and SNMP Communication Name.

  • Default: [Inactive]

Fold/Booklet

Depending on the folding unit mounted on the machine, some settings are not displayed.

Setting Items

Description

Z-fold Position

If you specify Z-folding, set the fold-back position in 1 mm (0.04") increments.

  • Default: [2 mm] ([0.08 inch])

Half Fold Position

If you specify half folding, set the fold-back position in 1 mm (0.04") increments. Single-sheet Fold or Multi-sheet Fold position can be adjusted.

  • Default: [0 mm] ([0.00 inch])

Letter Fold-out Position

If you specify letter fold-out folding, set the fold-back position in 1 mm (0.04") increments. Single-sheet Fold or Multi-sheet Fold position can be adjusted.

  • Default: [4 mm] ([0.16 inch])

Letter Fold-in Position

If you specify letter fold-in folding, set the fold-back position in 1 mm (0.04") increments. Single-sheet Fold or Multi-sheet Fold position can be adjusted.

  • Default: [4 mm] ([0.16 inch])

Double Parallel Fold Position

If you specify double parallel folding, set the fold-back position in 1 mm (0.04") increments.

  • Default: [0 mm] ([0.00 inch])

Gate Fold Position

If you specify gate folding, set the fold-back position in 1 mm (0.04") increments.

  • Default: [4 mm] ([0.16 inch])

Number of Sheet Align for Booklet

Specify the number of sheets for each paper size that are aligned at one time when printouts are saddle-stitched.

  • Default: [2 sheets]

Description

Central Management

  • Central Address Book Management

    This is the setting item to share the address book information among devices. Devices are specified as a [Management Server] and [Managed Client] and the address book information of the server device is shared with the client devices.

    • Management Server

      To use the machine as a Management Server, specify the password for central management in [Central Management Password]. Use to specify the server on the device that functions as a client.

    • Managed Client

      When you use the machine as a client, enter the IP address of the Management Server, Host Name, and Central Management Password. Also, specify whether to permit the login to the machine when it is not connected to the Management Server.

    When you use the machine as a client device, you cannot specify the settings on the Address Book of the machine or register an Administrator. Specify them on the Address Book of the server device.

  • When [Managed Client] is specified for Central Address Book Management, the following settings are not available:

    • [Address Book][Register] / [Create Group] / [Edit] / [Delete]

    • [Address Book][Management][Edit Title]

    • [Address Book][Management][Back Up/Restore Address Book]

    • [Address Book][Management][Delete All Data in Address Book]

    • [System Settings][Settings for Administrator][Authentication/Charge][Administrator Authentication/User Authentication/App Auth.][Register/Change Administrator]

  • If you forward received fax documents while the Address Book is being updated using the Central Address Book Management function, documents may be forwarded to an unintended destination.

  • Transferring Received Fax Documents to Another Fax Destination

  • For the Sender to Specify the Delivery Destinations

Support Settings

Specify whether to display Help according to the displayed screen. When [Help Functions] is set to [On], the [?] button is displayed at the top right on the screen. When you press the [?] button for the first time, the guidance screen appears to let you select whether to display online or offline help.

  • Default

    • Help Functions: [On]

    • Display Guidance Screen: [Active]

    • Display Online Help Preferentially: [On]

Compatible ID

Specify whether to enable or disable Compatible ID. When this machine is connected to the computer via USB or network, specify [Disable] to avoid a printer driver is automatically installed by plug and play.

  • Default: [Active]

Fixed USB Port

This is a setting item to specify when you use the same machines as this machine. When you use the machine as a printer using the USB connection, you do not need to re-install the printer driver. To use this function, specify [Level 1].

  • Default: [Off]

Stop Key to Suspend Print Job

Specify the job range to stop when you press [Stop].

  • All Jobs

    When you press [Stop], the dialog is displayed to stop all job.

    While the dialog is displayed, newly received jobs are not yet printed, making it possible to stop printing jobs just after being sent from the computer.

  • All Jobs Being Executed

    Stop all jobs on the machine. Jobs received after pressing [Stop] are not stopped.

  • Only Job Being Operated

    Stop the jobs for the functions displayed on the control panel.

  • Default: [All Jobs]

Status Indicator

Set whether to light the status indicator on the upper part of the operation panel.

Default: [On]
