Replacing the Drum Unit
Replacement of the drum unit varies according to your contract for consumables, etc.
Service representative replaces the drum unit
Contact your service representative to replace the drum unit when “Replacement of Black Drum Unit is now necessary. Replace Black Drum Unit.” or “Replacement of Color Drum Unit is now necessary. Replace Color Drum Unit.” appears.
Replace the drum unit yourself
The drum unit needs to be replaced soon when “Replacement of Black Drum Unit will soon be necessary. A new Black Drum Unit is required. Please contact your local vendor.” or “Replacement of Color Drum Unit will soon be necessary. A new Color Drum Unit is required. Please contact your local vendor.” is displayed. Prepare a new drum unit.
You need to replace the drum unit when “Replacement of Black Drum Unit is now necessary. Replace Black Drum Unit.” or “Replacement of Color Drum Unit is now necessary. Replace Color Drum Unit.” appears.
Watch the video displayed on the control panel of the machine for the procedure to replace the drum unit.
The printer stops printing if you continue to use the drum unit after the replacement time. When the replacement message appears, please call for servicing or change the drum unit.
Exposure to light reduces the drum unit performance. Replace the unit as quickly as possible.
Do not pull out the drum unit quickly or with force as it may fall.
Take care so that nothing comes into contact with the top surface of the drum unit.
When holding the drum unit, grab the green grip on the left and the handle on the front together. Do not move the drum unit by only grabbing the grip. Doing so may damage the grip.
Do not leave the machine unattended with the drum unit removed.
Press [Check Status] and then press [Check] under [Machine Status] tab.
Replace it by following the procedure shown on the display.
