Configure settings for device name, output tray, priority tray, cover sheet tray, and slip sheet tray.
Note
- Settings on this page can be changed by the following administrators and users:
- Network Administrator (Device Name, Comment, and Location)
- Machine Administrator (Spool Printing, Protect Printer Display Panel, Print Priority, Function Reset Timer, Stop Key to Suspend Print Job, Display IP Address on Device Display Panel, Media Slot Use, PDF File Type: PDF/A Fixed, Compatible ID, Stapleless Stapler Settings, Prohibit printing stored files from Web Image Monitor, Human Detection Sensor, Energy Saving Recovery for Business Application, ADF Operation: Copier / Document Server, Shift to Main Power-Off When Network Disconnected, Output Priority When Paper is Fed to Finisher, and tray settings)
- Login users (all items except Protect Printer Display Panel), if:
User authentication is enabled on the device and users are permitted to make changes to administrator's setting items.
- Some items may not appear depending on machine type or configuration.
General Settings
Device Name
Enter the device name, using up to 31 characters.
Note
- The device name is different from the host name entered in the Host Name box on the Configuration: Network: IPv4 or Configuration: Network: IPv6 page.
Comment
Enter a note about the machine, using up to 31 characters.
Location
Enter the device location, using up to 32 characters.
Spool Printing
Specify whether Spool Printing is active or inactive.
This appears only when Spool Printing is supported by the machine.
Note
- When Active is selected, you can select Job - Printer - Spool Printing.
This displays the Spool Printing Job List page.
When Inactive is selected, the Spool Printing item does not appear on the Job page. - Spool printing is active or inactive when you click OK on this page. Job - Printer - Spool Printing is displayed or hidden when the Web browser restarts after the setting is applied.
Protect Printer Display Panel
Specify whether to restrict access from the printer control panel, and if yes, select a protection level.
If protection is enabled, changing control panel items is not possible.
This appears only when printer function is supported by the machine.
Note
- If you select Level 1 or Level 2, the protection level that is applied is the same as that specified for Level 1 or Level 2 of the Menu Protect setting in the printer's initial settings, which are configured using the machine control panel.
- For details about setting Menu Protect, see the operating instructions provided with the machine.
- This item appears only when you are logged in as Machine Administrator.
Print Priority
Select the priority job type for the machine.
For example, if there is a job submitted from the copier function using the machine's control panel and a job sent from a client computer, the client computer's job is printed first if Printer is selected for Print Priority.
Note
- Copier/Document Server, Fax, or Printer appears only if the machine supports these functions.
- This is displayed only if/when supported by the machine.
Display Mode
Gives priority to jobs submitted using the mode selected on the machine's control panel.
Interleave
Gives priority to jobs submitted using the Interrupt function. If Interleave is selected, the current print job is interrupted after printing maximum of five sheets.
Job Order
No priority setting. Jobs are printed in the order they were submitted.
Copier/Document Server
Gives priority to jobs submitted using the copier function and jobs submitted from the machine's Document Server.
Fax
Gives priority to jobs submitted using the fax function.
Printer
Gives priority to jobs submitted using the printer function.
Function Reset Timer
Specify a time period to elapse before the machine switches to the function selected in Print Priority.
Set Time
Specify how long (3 to 30 seconds) the machine waits before it switches to the selected function.
Immediate
The machine switches to the selected function immediately.
Stop Key to Suspend Print Job
Select how to stop a print job when you press the "Stop" key on the machine's control panel.
All Print Job
All print jobs are canceled temporarily. In the Job Management page on the machine's control panel, specify the job you want to cancel.
Only Job Being Operated
Only jobs that are being processed are canceled.
Display IP Address on Device Display Panel
Specify whether to display the device IP address on its control panel.
Note
- The IP address display position or order on the control panel varies depending on the device model.
- This is displayed only if/when supported by the machine.
Media Slot Use
Specify whether or not to allow users to use the machine's media slot.
Note
- This is displayed only if/when supported by the machine.
Store to Memory Device
Specify whether or not to allow users to store the scanned data to a USB flash memory device or an SD card using the media slot.
Print from Memory Storage Device
Specify whether or not to allow users to print the data from a USB flash memory device or an SD card using the media slot.
Compatible ID
You can enable or disable the Compatible ID setting.
PDF File Type: PDF/A Fixed
Converts all PDF files generated in the machine to PDF/A files.
Note
- A PDF/A file cannot be opened in a version earlier than Acrobat 4.
Stapleless Stapler Settings
Specify the stapleless stapler settings.
Erase Margin for Stapleless Stapler
The staple may come off easily if the stapleless stapler is applied to an image printed in a stapling position.
Using this function enables you to remove the image printed in the stapling position and prevent the staple from coming off.
Alternatively, you can change the position of the binding margins so that stapling is not directly applied to the image.
Note
- Depending on printing functions, the margin adjustment method will vary.
- When using printer driver, adjust the margins on the application you use.
- When using the Document Server and copier functions from the operation panel of the device, adjust the margins on the operation panel.
- When using Document Server from Web Image Monitor, adjust margins on the Edit page.
- If you use this function, the output may differ from the thumbnail image on Document Server.
Stapling Method for Stapleless Stapler
Specify a stapling method for stapleless stapler.
Single
Applies single stapling. The stapling time is shorter than Double.
Double
Applies double stapling. This method is stronger than Single.
Auto Switch Staple/Stapleless Stapler
Specify whether or not to switch between regular and stapleless stapling modes automatically.
If On is selected, stapleless stapling is applied to a document of less than six sheets, or regular stapling to six sheets or more.
Prohibit printing stored files from Web Image Monitor
Specify whether or not to allow users to print stored files from Web Image Monitor.
Note
- The Print button may not appear if Prohibit is set for Prohibit printing stored files from Web Image Monitor on the following pages:
Human Detection Sensor
Specify whether or not to enable the human detection sensor.
If Active is selected, the machine detects a user's presence nearby and exits power saving mode, so that the machine's control panel will be ready to use in a short time.
Energy Saving Recovery for Business Application
If only applications which run without the machine (printer/copier/scanner functions) are used, selecting On (Energy Saving) will reduce power consumption. In this mode, it will take time for the machine to return to the normal mode.
ADF Operation: Copier / Document Server
Select either of the following when using the copier or document server.
Silent Mode
Reduces the operation sound by scanning originals slowly.
Productive Mode
Gives priority to the scanning speed.
Shift to Main Power-Off When Network Disconnected
Specify whether or not to turn the main power off if the network is disconnected.
Output Priority When Paper is Fed to Finisher
Specify the output mode when ejecting paper from a finisher.
It may take more time to exit power saving mode if a finisher is installed.
Print Start Time
Exits power saving mode faster. However, print speed is reduced.
Continuous Print Speed
Gives priority to print speed. It takes more time to return to normal mode than Print Start Time.
Output Tray
Select the output tray for each function.
Note
- Available output trays depend on machine type or options installed.
- The output tray selection for individual functions does not appear if the machine has only one tray installed.
Copier
Select the output tray you want to use for the copier function.
Fax
Select the output tray you want to use for the fax function.
Printer
Select the output tray you want to use for the printer function.
Document Server
Select the output tray you want to use for the Document Server function.
Paper Tray Priority
Select the priority tray for each function.
Paper Tray Priority is the tray selected immediately after the printer is turned on, and when Auto Select is chosen as the paper source in a job.
Note
- Available input trays depend on machine type or options installed.
Copier
Select the priority tray you want to use for the copier function.
Fax
Select the priority tray you want to use for the fax function.
Printer
Select the priority tray you want to use for the printer function.
Cover Sheet Tray
Cover Sheet Tray is displayed only if the machine has a cover sheet function.
Tray to set
Specify whether or not to set the cover sheet tray.
When setting the cover sheet tray, first select the paper tray you want to use for cover sheet.
Note
- Available paper trays depend on machine type or options installed.
- When None is selected in the Tray to set list, settings configured for Apply Duplex and Display Time are disabled.
Apply Duplex
Specify whether or not to use the tray for duplex printing.
Even if On is selected in the list, the tray may not be suitable for duplex printing, depending on the type and thickness of the paper that is loaded in it.
Note
- This setting is enabled only when At Mode Selected is selected for Display Time. If Full Time is selected for Display Time, the setting in Apply Duplex on the Configuration: Device Settings: Paper page is used.
Display Time
Select when the cover sheet tray should be shown in the copy function screen on the machine's control panel.
At Mode Selected
The cover sheet indication appears on the tray item when the cover sheet function is selected.
Full Time
The cover sheet tray indication always appears on the tray item.
Slip Sheet Tray
Slip Sheet Tray is displayed only if the machine has a slip sheet function.
Tray to set
Specify whether to set the slip sheet tray.
When setting the slip sheet tray, first select the paper tray you want to use for slip sheet.
Note
- Available paper trays depend on machine type or options installed.
- When None is selected in the Tray to set list, settings configured for Apply Duplex and Display Time are disabled.
Apply Duplex
Specify whether to use the tray for duplex printing.
Even if On is selected, the tray may not be suitable for duplex printing, depending on the type and thickness of the paper that is loaded in it.
Note
- This setting is enabled only when At Mode Selected is selected for Display Time. If Full Time is selected for Display Time, the setting in Apply Duplex on the Configuration: Device Settings: Paper page is used.
Display Time
Select when the slip sheet tray should be shown in the copy function screen on the machine's control panel.
At Mode Selected
The slip sheet indication appears on the tray item when the slip sheet function is selected.
Full Time
The slip sheet tray indication always appears on the tray item.
Buttons
Refresh
Click to update the currently displayed information.
Note
- Before making the settings, click Refresh to obtain the machine's current status.
OK
Click to apply the settings.
Cancel
Click to cancel the settings.
