SNMP
Configure the community name settings here. Up to 10 types of community name can be programmed.
Note
- Settings configured here relate to the following interfaces:
Ethernet and wireless LAN. - Settings on this page can be changed by the following administrator:

SNMP
Specify whether SNMP is active or inactive for the interface board(s).
Note
- The setting configured here is used for SNMPv1/v2/v3. If Inactive is selected, SNMPv1/v2/v3 will all be disabled. This setting is reflected in the SNMP list on the Configuration: Network: SNMPv3 page.
Protocol
Configure settings for the transport protocol used by SNMP.
Note
- The setting configured here is used for SNMPv1/v2/v3. This setting is reflected in the Protocol list on the Configuration: Network: SNMPv3 page.
- IPX appears when a NetWare module (standard or optional) is installed.
IPv4
Specify whether IPv4 is active or inactive.
IPv6
Specify whether IPv6 is active or inactive.
IPX
Specify whether IPX is active or inactive.
SNMPv1,v2 Setting
The following items are common to SNMPv1 and v2:
SNMPv1,v2 Function
Specify whether to enable or disable SNMPv1 and v2.
SNMPv1 Trap Communication
Specify whether to send SNMPv1 trap.
SNMPv2 Trap Communication
Specify whether to send SNMPv2 trap.
Permit Settings by SNMPv1 and v2
Specify whether to permit SNMPv1/v2 to change access privileges for increased communication security.
If On is selected, the access type read-write set for a community will be changed to read-only.
Community
Community Name
Enter the name of the community to which the network interface board belongs, using up to 15 characters. If the community name is different from that of the hosts, requests from the hosts will not be accepted.
Access Type
In the list, select the access rights to the community.
Not Accessible
No access permitted.
read-only
You can read the information, but not edit it.
read-write
You can read and edit the information.
trap
Notifies the manager with information about errors. Enter the recipient of the error notification in the Manager Address box.
Protocol Type, Active/Inactive
Configure settings for each protocol used by the community.
Note
- IPX appears only when a NetWare module (standard or optional) is installed.
IPv4
Specify whether IPv4 is active or inactive.
IPv6
Specify whether IPv6 is active or inactive.
IPX
Specify whether IPX is active or inactive.
Manager Address
Enter the host computer's address according to the protocol in use.
When using IPv4
Enter the host computer's IPv4 address. If you set the access type to read-only or read-write, only requests from hosts with the specified IPv4 address are accepted. Set the address to "0.0.0.0" to have requests accepted from any host. If you set the access type to trap, enter the IPv4 address of the host to which the information is sent.
When using IPv6
Enter the host computer's IPv6 address. If you set the access type to read-only or read-write, only requests from hosts with the specified IPv6 address are accepted. Set the address to "::" to have requests accepted from any host. If you set the access type to trap, enter the IPv6 address of the host to which the information is sent.
When using IPX
Enter the host computer's IPX address. The IPX address consists of the network number and the physical address. Enter the network number to which the host is connected and the MAC address of the network interface board that is attached to the host, separated by a colon ":". If you set the access type to read-only or read-write, only requests from hosts with the specified IPX address are accepted. Set the MAC address to "00:00:00:00:00:00" to have requests accepted from any host. If you set the access type to trap, enter the IPX address of the host to which the information is sent.
