IP-Fax Settings

Configure the basic settings for the IP-Fax function.

Note

• Settings on this page can be changed by the following administrators and users:
  • Network Administrator
  • Users logged in to a device that is set to perform user authentication
    Users must have normal fax operation rights and permission to change settings that usually only administrators can change.

H.323

Enable H.323

Select whether to use H.323 for IP-Fax transmission.

Enable IP-Fax Gatekeeper

Select whether to use a gatekeeper for IP-Fax transmission.
When On is selected, specify the following:

Note

• A gatekeeper manages devices connected to a TCP/IP network. It performs address conversion and authentication.

Gatekeeper Address (Main)

Enter the main gatekeeper's IP address or host name. Up to 128 alphanumeric characters can be entered. A port number can also be specified after a colon ":".

Gatekeeper Address (Sub)

Enter the sub gatekeeper's IP address or host name. Up to 128 alphanumeric characters can be entered. A port number can also be specified after a colon ":".

Note

• Symbols that can be used are:
  - . , # : *

Own Fax No.

Enter the device's phone number to be registered in the gatekeeper. You can enter up to 128 characters consisting of digits and symbols (* #).

SIP

Enable SIP

Select whether to use SIP for IP-Fax transmission.

Enable Server

Select whether to use a SIP server for IP-Fax transmission.
When On is selected, specify the following: (User Name and Server IP Address only)

User Name

Enter a device name to be registered in the SIP server. Up to 128 alphanumeric characters can be entered.

Server IP Address

Set the SIP server IP address.
Specify the following servers using an IP address or host name. Up to 128 alphanumeric characters can be entered. A port number can also be specified after a colon ":".

• Proxy Server Addr. (Main)
• Proxy Server Address (Sub)
• Redirect Svr. Addr. (Main)
• Redirect Svr. Addr. (Sub)
• Registrar Address (Main)
• Registrar Address (Sub)

Digest Authentication

Select whether to perform SIP server Digest Authentication for the machine at IP-Fax transmission and terminal registration.
Digest Authentication sends user names (device names) and passwords in encrypted form, increasing communication security. If you select On, specify the user name and password in the Digest Authentication User Name and Password boxes.

Note

• When using Digest Authentication, user names and passwords are encrypted also when registering the machine in the SIP server.

Digest Authentication User Name

Specify the user name for Digest Authentication. You can enter up to 128 alphanumeric characters.

Refresh

Click to update the currently displayed information.

Note

• Before making the settings, click Refresh to obtain the machine's current status.

OK

Click to apply the settings.

Cancel

Click to cancel the settings.
