IPP Authentication

If using IPP, configure authentication settings for printing here.

Note

Settings configured here relate to the following interfaces:
Ethernet and wireless LAN.
Settings on this page can be changed by the following administrator:

Authentication

Select whether or not to require a user name and password for printing.
When performing authentication, up to 10 combinations of user names and passwords can be registered.

Inactive

Authentication is not performed. Any user can print using the machine.

BASIC

Only users whose User Name and Password are registered, can print. BASIC does not provide encryption during authentication.

DIGEST

Only users whose User Name and Password are registered, can print. DIGEST encrypts the user name and password and provides authentication.
When performing authentication, it is recommended to select DIGEST.

User Name

Enter a user name that has print privileges when BASIC or DIGEST is selected in the Authentication list, using up to eight characters. Colons cannot be entered.

Password

Enter the password of the user entered in the User Name box. Up to 8 characters can be entered.
