Configure the settings for unauthorized copy prevention for documents stored on the document server. Use this function to embed text and background patterns in confidential documents when printing them.
Unauthorized Copy Prevention Type
Specify an unauthorized copy prevention type to be used.
Off
Prints documents with the settings specified on the Device Management - Configuration - Unauthorized Copy Prevention: Document Server.
Data Security for Copying
If a document with an embedded copy guard pattern is copied, scanned, and/or stored in a machine with the Copy Data Security unit, the image of the page to be printed is destroyed, and the copy's color is turned completely gray.
Unauthorized Copy Prevention for Pattern
Use this function to embed text and background patterns in confidential documents. If an unauthorized copy of the document is made, the background pattern and text will be clearly visible. This function makes it easy to identify unauthorized copies.
Mask Type for Pattern/Density/Effect
Mask Type for Pattern
Select the mask type for the background pattern.
Pattern Color
Select the color of the background pattern.
Pattern Density
Select the density of the background pattern.
Data Security for Copying Effect
Select the type of effects applied to copies or prints.
Text and Background
Embeds a text and background pattern in confidential documents.

Background Only
Embeds only a background pattern in confidential documents and prints the text by deleting the shapes of the characters from the background.

Reverse Patterns (Text/Background)
The print effect is the same as that of Text and Background, but the copy effect is different.

Text Only
Prints only a prevention text in confidential documents.
See the effects applied to copies or prints in the list as follows.
Background Only
Embeds only a background pattern in confidential documents and prints the text by deleting the shapes of the characters from the background.

Prevention Text Settings
Text Selection
Select the text type for the data security for copying text.
If you select User Text, enter a user text using up to 64 characters.
Point Size
Specify a value to adjust the size of the data security for copying text.
If you use a small font, it may not be effective for the data security for copying.
Carriage Return Space
Specify the line spacing.
Text Angle
Specify a value to rotate the data security for copying text. As the value gets larger, the text rotates counterclockwise about its center.
Text Position
Specify a position to enter the data security for copying text.
Repeat Text
Select whether or not to repeatedly print the text over the whole sheet. If On is selected, Text Position is unavailable.
Buttons
Refresh
Click to update the currently displayed information.
Note
- Before making the settings, click Refresh to obtain the machine's current status.
OK
Click to apply the settings.
Cancel
Click to cancel the settings.
