Configure settings related to SNMPv3.

Note

• Settings configured here relate to the following interfaces:
  Ethernet and wireless LAN.
• Settings on this page can be changed by the following administrator:
  • Network Administrator (all items except those applicable to Machine Administrator access type)
  • Machine Administrator (items applicable to Machine Administrator access type)

SNMP

Select whether SNMP is active or inactive for the interface board(s).

Note

• The setting configured here is used for SNMPv1, v2, and v3. If Inactive is selected, SNMPv1, v2, and v3 will all be disabled. This setting is reflected in the SNMP list on the Configuration: Network: SNMP page.

Protocol

Configure settings for the transport protocol used by SNMP.

Note

• The setting configured here is used for SNMPv1/v2/v3. This setting is reflected in the Protocol list on the Configuration: Network: SNMP page.
• IPX appears only when a NetWare module (standard or optional) is installed.

IPv4

Select whether IPv4 is active or inactive.

IPv6

Select whether IPv6 is active or inactive.

IPX

Select whether IPX is active or inactive.

SNMPv3 Setting

SNMPv3 Function

Select whether SNMPv3 is active or inactive.

SNMPv3 Trap Communication

Select whether to send SNMPv3 trap.

Context Name

Displays the context name of the device.
The context name is fixed to "GWNCS".

Authentication Algorithm

Select an authentication algorithm for SNMPv3.

Encryption Algorithm

Select an encryption algorithm for SNMPv3.

Permit SNMPv3 Communication

Select an encryption mode for SNMPv3 communications.

Note

• To transmit encrypted data, an encryption password must be assigned to every account permitted to access the device via SNMPv3.

SNMPv3 Trap Communication Setting

Specify the IP address of the destination host to which SNMPv3 trap is sent, and specify the account of the sender. Up to five addresses can be set.

Account

Enter the user name of administrator or user account to use as the sender, using up to 32 characters.

Note

• If you enter a user name other than that specified for the account, SNMPv3 communication is not possible.
• An administrator account is registered on the Device Management: Configuration: Device Settings: Program/Change Administrator page. Select an access type for the administrator account in the Account (Administrator) area as described below.
• A User account is registered in the Account (User) area as described below. The default User account name is "initial".

Protocol Type, Active/Inactive

Configure settings for the transport protocol sending SNMP v3 trap.

Note

• IPX appears only when a NetWare module (standard or optional) is installed.

Manager Address

Enter the host computer's address according to the protocol used.

Account (User)

Configure a User account for accessing the device via SNMPv3:

Account Name (User)

Enter a user name for the User account, using up to 32 alphanumeric characters. The default User account name is "initial".

Authentication Password (User)

Enter a password for the User account, using up to 32 alphanumeric characters. The password is case sensitive. Minimum character limits vary depending on the machine's password policy settings.

Encryption Password (User)

Enter a password for encrypting the User account password, using up to 32 alphanumeric characters. The encryption password is case sensitive.

Note

• If SNMPv3 encryption is disabled, the User account password is not encrypted regardless of whether a password is entered in the Encryption Password box. You can specify whether SNMPv3 encryption is active or inactive on the printer. For details, see the operating instructions provided with the machine.

Access Type (User)

In the list, select an access type for the User account to access the device.

In the list, select an access type for the Machine Administrator account to access the device.

Refresh

Click to update the currently displayed information.

Note

• Before making the settings, click Refresh to obtain the machine's current status.

OK

Click to apply the settings.

Cancel

Click to cancel the settings.
