IPv4
Use this page to configure settings for printing using IPv4.
Note
- Settings configured here relate to the following interfaces:
Ethernet and wireless LAN. - If an item is flagged by an asterisk, it means that the value obtained from the DHCP server has priority when using DHCP. The value currently in use appears in parentheses.
- Settings on this page can be changed by the following administrators and users:
- Network Administrator
- Users logged on
User authentication is enabled on the device and users are permitted to make changes to administrator's setting items.
IPv4
Select whether IPv4 is active or inactive.
Note
- If IPv4 is already in use, the setting cannot be changed from Active to Inactive. For example, if your browser uses IPv4 to connect to the device, Inactive cannot be selected.
Ethernet/Wireless LAN/Ethernet + Wireless LAN
Ethernet, Wireless LAN, or Ethernet + Wireless LAN appears depending on the interface board installed.
Host Name
Enter the host name you want to set for the network interface board or wireless LAN interface unit, using up to 63 characters. The default is RNP, followed by the MAC address of the active interface board. If you change the name to other than the default, the new name cannot begin with "RNP" or "rnp".
Note
- A hyphen can be used as part of the host name. However, hyphens cannot be used at the start or end of a host name or entered consecutively ("--", etc.).
DHCP
Select Active to use the DHCP server to automatically configure the network settings. Select Inactive to manually configure the network settings.
Domain Name
Select whether to use the domain name obtained from the DHCP server, or the domain name set for the device.
Auto-Obtain (DHCP)
When using DHCP, the domain name obtained from the DHCP server is used. If the domain name cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the domain name set for the device is used.
Specify
The domain name set for the device is used. Enter the domain name, using up to 63 characters. Spaces cannot be used.
IPv4 Address*
Enter the IPv4 address of the network interface board or wireless LAN interface unit.
At DHCP operation, the address obtained from the DHCP server is used.
Subnet Mask*
Enter the sub-net mask of the network interface board and wireless LAN board.
The sub-net mask is a part of the IP address used as a network address.
When using DHCP, the sub-net mask obtained from the DHCP server is used.
DDNS
Select whether DDNS (Dynamic DNS) name resolution for the network interface board or wireless LAN board is active or inactive.
When active, the DNS database is immediately updated.
WINS
Select whether WINS name resolution for the network interface board or wireless LAN interface unit is active or inactive.
When enabled, enter the IP address of the WINS server for Primary WINS Server and Secondary WINS Server.
The host name entered for Host Name is registered to the specified WINS server.
Even if the network interface board or wireless LAN interface unit IP address is changed for use in a DHCP environment, specification using the name is active.
If a name cannot be registered on the WINS server, it sends out a registration request.
Primary WINS Server*
Enter the primary WINS server IP address.
When using DHCP, the primary WINS server address obtained from the DHCP server is used.
If the address cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the primary WINS server address set for the device is used.
Secondary WINS Server*
Enter the secondary WINS server IP address.
The secondary WINS server is used when the primary WINS server is not available to register the device name.
When using DHCP, the secondary WINS server address obtained from the DHCP server is used.
If the address cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the secondary WINS server address set for the device is used.
LLMNR
Select whether or not to respond to the name resolution order from the LLMNR (Link-Local Multicast Name Resolution) protocol.
This function is effective for the network without the DNS server.
Scope ID*
Enter the NetBIOS scope ID you want to set for the network interface board and wireless LAN board, using up to 31 characters.
When using DHCP, the scope ID obtained from the DHCP server is used.
If the ID cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the ID set for the device is used.
Details
These settings are common to the network interface board and wireless LAN board.
Default Gateway Address*
Enter the default gateway address.
The default gateway address is the IP address of the host or router used as the gateway when communicating (printing or exchanging information) with a computer on another network.
When using DHCP, the default gateway address obtained from the DHCP server is used.
If the address cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the default gateway address set for the device is used.
Note
- When multiple interface boards are installed, the default gateway address is determined as follows:
When DHCP is active for all interfaces, the default gateway address is obtained from the DHCP server in order of interface priority.
When both DHCP active and DHCP inactive interfaces are operating, the default gateway address set for the device is used. - The order of interface priority can be changed from Remote Maintenance (mshell).
DNS Server
Select whether to use the DNS server obtained from the DHCP server, or the DNS server set for the device.
"Auto-Obtain (DHCP)" selected
"DNS Server1(DHCP)", "DNS Server2(DHCP)", and "DNS Server3"(Auto-Obtain (DHCP)) are accessed in this order, and the DNS server that responds first is used.
"DNS Server1", "DNS Server2", and "DNS Server3"(Specify) are not used.
Even if Auto-Obtain (DHCP) is selected when DHCP is not used, the operation is the same as when Specify is selected.

"DNS Server1", "DNS Server2", and "DNS Server3" are accessed in this order, and the DNS server that responds first is used.
DNS Server1(DHCP)
The primary DNS server IP address obtained from the DHCP server appears.
DNS Server2(DHCP)
The secondary DNS server IP address obtained from the DHCP server appears.
DNS Server3
Enter the DNS server IP address you want to set for the machine.
Note
- The entered value takes effect only when Auto-Obtain (DHCP) is selected for DNS Server.
DNS Server1, DNS Server2, DNS Server3
Enter the DNS server IP address you want to set for the machine.
Note
- The entered value takes effect only when Specify is selected for DNS Server.
LPR, RSH/RCP, DIPRINT, FTP, sftp, WSD (Device), WSD (Printer), WSD (Scanner), IPP
Select whether each protocol is active or inactive.
WSD (Encrypted Communication of Device)
Specify whether to encrypt the communication using the WSD (Web Services on Devices) protocol.
WSD (Printer)/IPP Timeout
When printing using WSD (Web Services on Devices) or IPP, specify the time the machine waits for job data before canceling the job.
You can specify a timeout period of 30 to 65535 seconds.
The default timeout period is 900 seconds.
IPDS
Select whether or not to enable IPDS function.
IPDS Port Number
Specify the IPDS port number to use with the IPDS function. You can enter a value between 1024 and 65535, but not 2501, 2601, or 9100.
RHPP
Select whether or not to enable printing using RHPP (Ricoh Host Print Protocol).
