Unauthorized Copy Prevention
Configure settings for the unauthorized copy prevention. Use this function to embed a text and background pattern in confidential documents.
Note
- Settings on this page can be changed by the following administrator:
- Machine Administrator
- This function is available only when printing a document using PS and PCL drivers.
Unauthorized Copy Prevention Setting
Specify whether or not to set unauthorized copy prevention.
On
Embeds a text and background pattern in the document and prints it in the settings on this page even if you do not configure settings for the unauthorized copy prevention on the driver.
Off
Prints documents in the driver's setting.
Setting Priority (Driver/Command/Machine)
Specify a type of priority setting. If you do not configure the settings on the driver, this function prints the documents with the settings on this page.
Driver/Command
Prints documents with the driver's setting.
Driver/Command (Most Settings)
Prints documents with the machine's setting for only Mask Type for Pattern and Pattern Density.
For other items, this function prints the documents with the driver's settings.
Machine Setting(s)
Prints documents with the machine's setting regardless of the driver's setting.
Unauthorized Copy Prevention Type
Specify an unauthorized copy prevention type to be used.
Data Security for Copying
If a document with an embedded copy guard pattern is copied, scanned, and/or stored in a machine with the Data Security for Copying function unit, the image of the page to be printed is destroyed, and turn the copy's color completely gray.
Unauthorized Copy Prevention for Pattern
Use this function to embed a text and background pattern in confidential documents. If an unauthorized copy of the document is made, the background pattern and text will be clearly visible. This function makes it easy to identify unauthorized copies.
Mask Type for Pattern/Density/Effect
Mask Type for Pattern
Select the mask type for the background pattern.
Click the icon of the mask type you want to use.
Pattern Density
Select the density of the background pattern.
Data Security for Copying Effect
Select the type of effects applied to copies or prints.
Text and Background
Embeds a text and background pattern in confidential documents.
See the effects applied to copies or prints in the list as follows.
Background Only
Embeds only a background pattern in confidential documents and prints the text by deleting the shapes of the characters from the background.
See the effects applied to copies or prints in the list as follows.

Text and Background
Embeds a text and background pattern in confidential documents.

Reverse Patterns (Text/Background)
The print effect is the same as that of Text and Background, but the copy effect is different.

Text Only
Prints only a prevention text in confidential documents.
See the effects applied to copies or prints in the list as follows.
Background Only
Embeds only a background pattern in confidential documents and prints the text by deleting the shapes of the characters from the background.

Prevention Text Settings
Text Selection
Select the text type for the data security for copying text.
If you select User Text 1 or User Text 2, enter a user text using up to 64 characters.
PCL Fonts for Texts/PS Fonts for Texts
Select the font style for the data security for copying text.
Point Size
Specify a value to adjust the size of the data security for copying text.
If you use a small font, it may not be effective for the data security for copying.
Carriage Return Space
Specify the line spacing.
Text Angle
Specify a value to rotate the data security for copying text. As the value gets larger, the text rotates counterclockwise about its center.
Text Position
Specify a position to enter the data security for copying text.
Repeat Text
Select whether or not to repeatedly print the text over the whole sheet. If On is selected, Text Position is unavailable.
Buttons
Refresh
Click to update the currently displayed information.
Note
- Before making the settings, click Refresh to obtain the machine's current status.
OK
Click to apply the settings.
Cancel
Click to cancel the settings.
