PDF File Security Settings

Use this page to configure the PDF security settings before converting a file stored in the Document Server to PDF.

Encryption

Make settings for PDF file encryption. To apply PDF encryption, you must specify a password using the [Password] option below.

Encrypt Document

Displays [On].

Password

Click [Change] to display the [Change Document Password] page, where you can specify a password required to open the file.

Encryption Level

Select one of the following encryption levels:

40 bit RC4

This is a lower security level but compatible with both Acrobat 3 and Acrobat 4.

128 bit RC4

This is a higher security level than 40 bit RC4, but is compatible only with Acrobat 5 or higher.

128 bit AES

This is a higher security level than 128 bit RC4, but is compatible only with Acrobat 7 or higher.

Permissions

Master Password

Select whether to specify a password required to change the permissions and password for the PDF file.
If [On] is selected, specify a password using the [Password] option below.

Password

Click [Change] to display the [Change Master Password] page where you can specify a password required to change the permissions and password.

Encryption Level

Specify permissions for the PDF file.

Print

Select a permission level for printing.

Changes

Select whether to permit editing of the file.

Content Copying and Extraction

Select whether to permit copying or extracting file content.

Click to save the settings and return to the [File Details] page. Settings made here are reflected in [PDF File Security Settings] on the [File Details] page.

Click to cancel the changes.
