Immediately after connecting to the device via a Web browser, the [Login] button is displayed in the header area.
In this status (before logging on), you can check device status, device settings, or job status displayed on the Web Image Monitor pages.
You can also print or delete jobs displayed in the list of sample print, locked print, hold print, or stored print documents stored on the device.
However, you cannot change device settings.
To log on to the device as Administrator, click the [Login] button in the header area, and then enter the user name and password of Administrator.
When logged on as Administrator, the user can change device settings as well as check device status, device settings, or job status.
To log on to the device as Supervisor, click the [Login] button in the header area, and then enter the user name and password of Supervisor.
When logged on as Supervisor, the user can change or delete the Administrator or Supervisor password on the [Configuration: Device Settings: Program/Change Administrator] page.
Supervisor is responsible for changing the password as needed; he/she cannot perform any other operation.
A password is required for managing the device.
For example, in case the Administrator should lose his/her password, it would become impossible to log on to the device to change its settings. Supervisor is provided to address this problem. As the Supervisor has the right to change the Administrator password, the Administrator is still able to change device settings.
