Default Settings for Normal Screens on Device
Configuration > Scanner > Default Settings for Normal Screens on Device

Configure and save the default settings of the scanner application that is normally displayed on the machine control panel.

Note

• Settings on this page can be changed by the following Administrators and Users:
  • Machine Administrator
  • Users logged on to a device that is set to perform user authentication
    Users must have normal scanner operation rights and permission to change settings that usually only administrators can change.

Store File

Specify whether or not to store scan files in the Document Server.
Files stored in the Document Server can be sent by e-mail or saved to folders. If you select "Store to Memory Storage Device", you can store scanned images on an SD card or in USB flash memory.

• For details about storing to memory devices, see the scanner operating instructions.

Preview

Specify whether or not to display a preview of the scanned image.

Note

• If you specify "Store to HDD", scanned images cannot be previewed.

Scan Settings

Scan Type

Specify the appropriate settings for the original type.

Note

• Available options vary depending on your machine.
• If "Auto Color Select" is selected, the original type might not be correctly determined, depending on the scan settings and document content.
• "Auto Color Select" cannot be selected if the file format is set to High Compression PDF.

Resolution

Specify the scan resolution.

Auto Density

The scanner automatically changes the threshold value when scanning a document that contains text areas of uneven density.

Dropout Color

You can remove a specific color from a scanned image by specifying the color. Available colors are "Chromatic Color", "Red", "Green", and "Blue".

Note

• [Dropout Color] can be selected when [Scan Type] is set to "Black & White: Text".

Dropout Color Range to Erase

Specify the color range for the color selected in [Dropout Color]. Click "Narrow" to decrease the color range, or click "Wide" to increase the color range.

Send File Type

Send File Type

Specify the format in which the scan files are sent.

Note

• Scan data is stored in the Document Server in TIFF or JPEG format. If [Store File] is set to "Store to HDD", the file format cannot be selected. If [Store File] is set to "Store to HDD + Send", scanned data can be sent in the format specified for E-mail Send or Folder Send, but stored files cannot be stored in that file format. For stored files, select the file format when sending.

Buttons

[Refresh]

Click to update the currently displayed information.

Note

• Before making the settings, click [Refresh] to obtain the machine's current status.

[OK]

Click to apply the settings.

[Cancel]

Click to cancel the settings.
