Use this page to make settings for S/MIME.
Note
- Settings on this page can be changed by the following Administrator:
- Network Administrator
Encryption
Encryption Algorithm
Select the common key encryption algorithm for S/MIME encryption.
Signature
Certificate Status
This field displays the current status of the S/MIME certificate.
Note
- The message "Do not Use" appears if [Do not Use] is selected for [S/MIME] in the [Certification] area on the [Device Certificate] page.
Digest Algorithm
Select the message digest type used for S/MIME signatures.
When Sending E-mail by Scanner
Select one of the following options to specify whether or not to apply digital signatures when sending e-mail by scanner.
Use Signatures
Digital signatures are always applied to e-mail sent by scanner.
Do not Use Signatures
Digital signatures are never applied to e-mail sent by scanner.
Set Individually
Users specify on a separate setup page whether or not to apply digital signatures to e-mail sent by scanner.
Note
- To select [Use Signatures] or [Set Individually], the e-mail address specified on the [Certificate Information] page must match the Administrator e-mail address specified on the [E-mail] page.
When Transferring Files Stored in Document Server (Utility)
Select one of the following options to specify whether or not digital signatures are applied to files stored in the Document Server that are being sent.
Use Signatures
Digital signatures are always applied to stored files being sent.
Do not Use Signatures
Digital signatures are never applied to stored files being sent.
Set Individually
Users specify on a separate setup page whether or not to apply digital signatures to stored files being sent.
Note
- To select [Use Signatures] or [Set Individually], the e-mail address specified on the [Certificate Information] page must match the Administrator e-mail address specified on the [E-mail] page.
Buttons
[Refresh]
Click to update the currently displayed information.
Note
- Before making the settings, click [Refresh] to obtain the machine's current status.
[OK]
Click to apply the settings.
[Cancel]
Click to cancel the settings.
