Use this page to make settings for printing using IPv4.

Note

• Settings made here relate to the following interfaces:
  Ethernet and wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b).
• If an item is flagged by an asterisk, it means that the value obtained from the DHCP server has priority when using DHCP. The value currently in use appears in parentheses.
• Settings on this page can be changed by the following Administrator:
  • Network Administrator

IPv4

Select whether to enable or disable IPv4.

Note

• If IPv4 is already in use, the setting cannot be changed from [Enable] to [Disable]. For example, if your browser uses IPv4 to connect to the device, [Disable] cannot be selected.

Ethernet/IEEE 802.11b/Ethernet+IEEE 802.11b

[Ethernet], [IEEE 802.11b], or [Ethernet+IEEE 802.11b] appears depending on the interface board installed.

Host Name

Enter the host name you want to set for the network interface board or 802.11b interface unit, using up to 63 characters. The default is RNP, followed by the last three bytes of the MAC address of the active interface board. For example, if the MAC address is 00:00:74:62:5C:65, the name is RNP625C65. When you change the default, a name beginning with "RNP" or "rnp" cannot be used.

Note

• A hyphen can be used as part of the host name. However, hyphens cannot be used at the start or end of a host name or entered consecutively ("--", etc.).

DHCP

Select [Enable] to use the DHCP server to automatically configure the network settings. Select [Disable] to manually configure the network settings.

Domain Name*

Select whether to use the domain name obtained from the DHCP server, or the domain name set for the device.

IPv4 Address*

Enter the IPv4 address of the network interface board or 802.11b interface unit.
At DHCP operation, the address obtained from the DHCP server is used.

Subnet Mask*

Enter the sub-net mask of the network interface board and wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b) board. The sub-net mask is a part of the IP address used as a network address.
When using DHCP, the sub-net mask obtained from the DHCP server is used.

DDNS

Select whether to enable or disable DDNS (Dynamic DNS) name resolution for the network interface board or wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b) board.
When enabled, the DNS database is immediately updated.

WINS

Select whether to enable or disable WINS name resolution for the network interface board or 802.11b interface unit.
When enabled, enter the IP address of the WINS server for [Primary WINS Server] and [Secondary WINS Server]. The host name entered for [Host Name] is registered to the specified WINS server. Even if the network interface board or 802.11b interface unit IP address is changed for use in a DHCP environment, specification using the name is enabled. If a name cannot be registered on the WINS server, it sends out a registration request.

Primary WINS Server*

Enter the primary WINS server IP address.
When using DHCP, the primary WINS server address obtained from the DHCP server is used. If the address cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the primary WINS server address set for the device is used.

Secondary WINS Server*

Enter the secondary WINS server IP address.
The secondary WINS server is used when the primary WINS server is not available to register the device name. When using DHCP, the secondary WINS server address obtained from the DHCP server is used. If the address cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the secondary WINS server address set for the device is used.

Scope ID*

Enter the NetBIOS scope ID you want to set for the network interface board and wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b) board, using up to 31 characters.
When using DHCP, the scope ID obtained from the DHCP server is used. If the ID cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the ID set for the device is used.

Detail

These settings are common to the network interface board and wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b) board.

Default Gateway Address*

Enter the default gateway address.
The default gateway address is the IP address of the host or router used as the gateway when communicating (printing or exchanging information) with a computer on another network.
When using DHCP, the default gateway address obtained from the DHCP server is used. If the address cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the default gateway address set for the device is used.

Note

• When multiple interface boards are installed, the default gateway address is determined as follows:
  When DHCP is enabled for all interfaces, the default gateway address is obtained from the DHCP server in order of interface priority.
  When both DHCP enabled and DHCP disabled interfaces are operating, the default gateway address set for the device is used.
• The order of interface priority can be changed from Remote Maintenance (mshell).

DNS Server

Select whether to use the DNS server obtained from the DHCP server, or the DNS server set for the device.

DNS Server1(DHCP)

The primary DNS server IP address obtained from the DHCP server appears.

DNS Server2(DHCP)

The secondary DNS server IP address obtained from the DHCP server appears.

DNS Server3

Enter the DNS server IP address you want to set for the machine.

• The entered value takes effect only when [Auto-Obtain (DHCP)] is selected for [DNS Server].

DNS Server1, DNS Server2, DNS Server3

Enter the DNS server IP address you want to set for the machine.

Note

• The entered value takes effect only when [Specify] is selected for [DNS Server].

LPR, RSH/RCP, DIPRINT, FTP, sftp, IPP

Select whether each protocol is enabled or disabled.

IPP Timeout

When printing using IPP, a printing timeout occurs when no data has been sent after the amount of time displayed here has elapsed (30 to 65535 seconds).
The default is 900.

Click to update the currently displayed information.

• Before making the settings, click [Refresh] to obtain the machine's current status.

[OK]

Click to apply the settings.
