Make settings related to SNMPv3.

Note

• Settings made here relate to the following interfaces:
  Ethernet, wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b), and IEEE 1394.
• Settings on this page can be changed by the following Administrator:
  • Network Administrator (all items except those applicable to Machine Administrator access type)
  • Machine Administrator (items applicable to Machine Administrator access type)

SNMP (Common)

Select whether SNMP is enabled or disabled for the interface board(s).

Note

• The setting made here is used for SNMPv1, v2, and v3 . If [Disable] is selected, SNMPv1, v2, and v3 will all be disabled. This setting is reflected in the [SNMP (Common)] list on the [Configuration: Network: SNMP] page.

Protocol

Make settings for the transport protocol used by SNMP.

• The setting made here is used for SNMPv1/v2/v3 . This setting is reflected in the [Protocol] list on the [Configuration: Network: SNMP] page.

IPv4

Select whether to enable or disable IPv4.

IPv6

Select whether to enable or disable IPv6.

IPX

Select whether to enable or disable IPX.

SNMPv3 Setting

SNMPv3 Function

Select whether to enable or disable SNMPv3.

SNMPv3 Trap Communication

Select whether to send SNMPv3 trap.

Context Name

Displays the context name of the device.
The context name is fixed to "GWNCS".

Authentication Algorithm

Select an authentication algorithm for SNMPv3.

Permit SNMPv3 Communication

Select an encryption mode for SNMPv3 communications.

Note

• To transmit encrypted data, an encryption password must be assigned to every account permitted to access the device via SNMPv3.

SNMPv3 Trap Communication Setting

Specify the IP address of the destination host to which SNMPv3 trap is sent, and specify the account of the sender. Up to five addresses can be set.

Account

Enter the user name of Machine Administrator, Network Administrator, or User account to use as the sender, using up to 32 characters.

Note

• If you enter a user name other than that specified for the account, SNMPv3 communication is not possible.
• An Administrator account is registered on the [Configuration: Device Settings: Program/Change Administrator] page. Select an access type for the Administrator account in the [Account (Network Administrator)] and [Account (Machine Administrator)] areas as described below.
• A User account is registered in the [Account (User)] area as described below. The default User account name is "initial".

Protocol Type, Enable/Disable

Make settings for the transport protocol sending SNMP v3 trap.

Manager Address

Enter the host computer's address according to the protocol used.

Account (User)

Configure a User account for accessing the device via SNMPv3:

Account Name

Enter a user name for the User account, using up to 32 alphanumeric characters. The default User account name is "initial".

Authentication Password

Enter a password for the User account, using up to 32 alphanumeric characters. The password is case sensitive. Minimum character limits vary depending on the machine's password policy settings.

Encryption Password

Enter a password for encrypting the User account password, using up to 32 alphanumeric characters. The encryption password is case sensitive.

Note

• If SNMPv3 encryption is disabled, the User account password is not encrypted regardless of whether a password is entered in the [Encryption Password] dialog box. You can specify whether to enable or disable SNMPv3 encryption on the printer control panel.

Access Type

In the list, select an access type for the User account to access the device.

Account (Network Administrator)

In the list, select an access type for the Network Administrator account to access the device.

Account (Machine Administrator)

Access Type

In the list, select an access type for the Machine Administrator account to access the device.

Buttons

[Refresh]

Click to update the currently displayed information.

Note

• Before making the settings, click [Refresh] to obtain the machine's current status.

[OK]

Click to apply the settings.

[Cancel]

Click to cancel the settings.
