This section describes the user tools in the Tray Paper Settings menu under System Settings.
If the specified paper size differs from the actual size of the paper loaded in the paper tray, a misfeed might occur because the correct paper size was not detected.
Paper Tray Priority: Copier (copier/Document Server)
Specify the tray to supply paper for output.
Default: [Tray 1]
Paper Tray Priority: Facsimile (facsimile)
Specify the tray to supply paper for output.
Default: [Tray 1]
Paper Tray Priority: Printer (printer)
Specify the tray to supply paper for output.
Default: [Tray 1]
Tray Paper Size: Tray 1
Select the size of the paper loaded in the paper tray.
The paper sizes you can set for Tray 1 are as follows:
[Auto Detect]
A4, A5, A6, B5 JIS, B6 JIS, C5 Env, C6 Env, DL Env, 81/2 × 11, 71/4 × 101/2, 51/2 × 81/2, 41/8 × 91/2, 37/8 × 71/2, 16K
[Custom Size]

You can specify a custom size of between 98.0–216.0 mm (3.86–8.50 inches) vertically, and between 148.0–297.0 mm (5.83–11.69 inches) horizontally.

Tray Paper Size: Tray 2–4 (When the lower paper tray or lower paper trays are installed.)
Select the size of the paper loaded in Trays 2–4.
The paper sizes you can set for Trays 2–4 are as follows:

Printer Bypass Paper Size
Specify the size of the paper loaded in the bypass tray when printing data from the computer.
The paper sizes you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:

You can specify a custom size of between 70.0–216.0 mm (2.76–8.50 inches) vertically, and between 127.0–600.0 mm (5.00–23.62 inches) horizontally.
To allow users to specify a horizontal dimension of 600–1260 mm (5.83–49.60 inches) in "Custom Size", other settings must first be specified. For details about specifying custom paper sizes, contact your sales or service representative.

Paper Type: Bypass Tray
Set the display so you can see what type of paper is loaded in the bypass tray.
The paper types you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:
[Do not Display], [Recycled Paper], [Color Paper], [Letterhead], [Label Paper], [OHP (Transparency)], [Special Paper 1], [Special Paper 2], [Special Paper 3], [Envelope], [Coated: Glossy], [Coated: Matted], [Waterproof], [Back Copied Paper]
The paper thicknesses you can set for the bypass tray are as follows:
[Thin Paper] (52–60 g/m2, 14–16 lb. Bond)
[Plain Paper] (61–90 g/m2, 16–24 lb. Bond)
[Middle Thick] (91–105 g/m2, 24–28 lb. Bond)
[Thick Paper 1] (106–130 g/m2, 28–35 lb. Bond)
[Thick Paper 2] (131–163 g/m2, 35 lb. Bond–90 lb. Index)
[Thick Paper 3] (164–220 g/m2, 90 lb. Index–80 lb. Cover)

If [Label Paper] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thin Paper] and [Thick Paper 4] are not displayed.
If [Envelope] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thin Paper] and [Plain Paper] are not displayed.
If [Coated: Glossy] or [Coated: Matted] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thin Paper] is not displayed.
If [Back Copied Paper] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thin Paper], [Plain Paper], and [Middle Thick] are not displayed.
If [Recycled Paper], [OHP (Transparency)], [Special Paper 1], [Special Paper 2], or [Special Paper 3] is selected for "Paper Type", "Paper Thickness" is not available.

Paper Type: Tray 1–4

The print function uses this information to automatically select the paper tray.

If [Label Paper], [Coated: Glossy], or [Coated: Matted] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thin Paper] is not displayed.
If [Envelope] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thin Paper] and [Plain Paper] are not displayed.
If [Back Copied Paper] is selected for "Paper Type", [Thin Paper], [Plain Paper], and [Middle Thick] are not displayed.
If [Recycled Paper], [Special Paper 1], [Special Paper 2], or [Special Paper 3] is selected for "Paper Type", "Paper Thickness" is not available.
If [Label Paper], [Envelope], or [Waterproof] is selected for "Paper Type", "Apply Duplex" is not available.
If [Thick Paper 3] is selected for "Paper Thickness", "Apply Duplex" is not available.
The lock icon is displayed next to the paper tray if [No] is selected in "Apply Auto Paper Select".

Cover Sheet Tray
You can specify and display the paper tray that is used for setting front cover sheets.
After selecting the paper tray, you can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.
Default: [Off]
If you set this setting to [On], take note of the following:
When [At Mode Selected] is selected in "Display Time", front cover sheet tray settings only appear when the cover function or slip sheet function is selected. When [Full Time] is selected, the front cover sheet tray is always displayed.
Slip Sheet Tray
You can specify and display the paper tray that is used for setting slip sheets.
You can also specify the display timing and copy method for two-sided copying.
Default: [Off]
If you set this setting to [On], take note of the following:
When [At Mode Selected] is selected in "Display Time", slip sheet tray settings only appear when the cover function or slip sheet function is selected. When [Full Time] is selected, the slip sheet tray is always displayed.
